Storm Update and Podcast

Hello everyone! It’s a lazy Saturday here in Nicaragua, and I’m enjoying the break. In case you’ve heard of the possibility of a hurricane Matthew or Tropical Storm to hit us today and tomorrow, have no fear. It is NOT a hurricane and will be hitting the northeastern side of the country. (I am in the southwest quadrant, roughly).

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend also, and I’m going to try to start including some audio posts to add in another dimension of Nicaragua. I’ll try to post audio from various places that I go, but today it was just sitting in my room. Enjoy!

Saturday rainstorm

    Dearest son,
How wonderful to hear your voice so clearly, and the rain, too! The audio will be an interesting addition to your words and pictures for bringing the rest of us, at least momentarily, into your life. I’m writing this at 1:35 pm Saturday, the same day you recorded your audio moments, so I feel particularly close to you. My morning (though it’s afternoon, actually) is still unfolding since I, too, slept in — much later than you. I ran 7.2 miles for the first time and felt pretty good, though with some beginning aches in knees and butt. I plan to make a breakfast/lunch soon to supplement my morning banana and coffee. Dad is golfing all day (36 holes!) so I’m spending this day alone — and looking forward to time happening as it will. Love you! Mom

Andrew! What a wonderful audio snippet into your life! I loved listening to the rain, and hearing about your day in your own words. I mean, and your own voice! It sounds like it was quite a nice Saturday! Congratulations on sleeping in! Also, congrats to Janet on your over 7 mile run! Awesome!
